I am a lesbian mother of a 21-year-old daughter, who is in
her sophomore year at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins.
I am proud of my daughter and the young woman she has become. She
is
truly
my
Princess
Daughter.
Keep up-to-date about her by clicking on the "Princess
Daughter" page.
My life partner / spouse
and I have three cats between us. They are angels when they
are sleeping, and curious beings when
they
are
awake. I wouldn't trade any of them for anything. The kitties'
stories can be found on the "Watch Out,
Garfield"
page.
My family may be small (Trudy, Karen, and me), but we share
so much love between all of us that I feel so fulfilled. Even
though my mom is pictured in the photo above, she has little
tolerance for me loving Trudy, so we don't do a whole lot together.
I think she tries, but then is almost paralyzed by traditional
religion. The same is true (little tolerance for two people
loving each other unconditionally) for my oldest brother --
oldest of five of us kids. I'm not sure where the other three
are at -- Doug seems to be okay; Will is a gay man, but tells
my mom he's living in sin, so I'm not sure what that's all about;
and Wes . . . well, unfortunately, he won't talk
to me about it, though we used to be extremely
close. We are obviously an estranged extended family, but between
my immediate family and
friends, I am truly blessed
with an awesome "family!"
I have had a website for a number of
years now, and my story about
me coming-out
has
generated
the
most
response
from
readers.
If you are interested in reading my coming-out story,
as well, I recommend grabbing a cup of coffee or tea or wine
and then sitting back and enjoying with an open mind.
My
Life Partner
Trudy and I have committed our lives to one another and are hoping
to make a trip to Canada next summer and getting married.. She's
a Realtor by trade and we now are also business partners, as well
as life partners. We both share in many of our "likes" as
far as our hobbies go and what we enjoy doing during our "down" time.
That has helped keep us strong in our first three years together!
What's Happening Lately
If you'd like to keep on what's been happening lately (almost like
a blog, but not updated as often), you are welcome to access
the "What's
New" page. I will keep some up-to-date pictures on there
and try to keep you apprised of what's been going on. |
