Gay and lesbian issues seem to be more and more in the news. For some recent GLBT-related news, check-out the Gay and Lesbian News section. I have included this page to provide overviews of some of the "hot topics" relating to us and to the world as a whole. The best thing we can do as individuals is be aware of what's going on in our political world that affects how we live (or can't live) in the freedoms promised to us in our Constitution (for those of us living in the United States), then to hold accountable our legislators and lawmakers and administration.

Even if you're a straight person reading this website, the impact of equality (or inequality) will ultimately affect your life as well. The "LGBT Equality - Update" section outlines where the gay and lesbian are as far as equality in today's society. It seems bleak, but the move is on!

I know I struggled with coming out as a lesbian, because organized religion taught me my whole life that it was a "disgusting sin." It took me years to truly understand God's true love and to get out of the box that religions attempted to put me in throughout my childhood and adult life. The "LGBT and God" page looks at the true dynamics of God and how loved each of us is as part of God's ordained creation -- there are truly no mistakes with God.

Every person is impacted by a gay man or lesbian in some fashion. If a government is quick to ensure one type of person is not ensured equality, it will not hesitate to do the same for other segments of the population.

“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Martin Niemoeller, Pastor
Protestant Pastor in Lippstadt, Westphalia
(1892-1984)

We all need to speak-up for those who are oppressed. Right now, it almost seems vogue to insist that gays and lesbians are not equal to all others. The "LGBT Activism" page lists some links to sites of activist organizations that support LGBTs being equal to all peoples. I encourage each of you to get involved locally to where you live.

May God bless each of you!
